Bright bathroom with wooden accents: our ideas

April 2020
A bright bathroom is always a good idea, because bright colours optically enlarge the room - and you probably can't have a bathroom that's too big. If you combine it with wood, you achieve the desired effect of warmth, ambience, which perfectly matches what the bathroom is supposed to be for us. We have a few ideas for you on how to add variety to this combination.

Bright bathroom with wooden accents: does it have to be wood?

We have already written about wood in the bathroom in our guide Wood in the bathroom: how to do it right. There are more and more economical solutions, good impregnants. However, if you don't really use wood and you like these patterns, look at the wood imitation tiles. There are many of them, both for flooring and walls. You don't have to worry about how to clean them, they won't get dirty from excess moisture, you can choose the shade and look precisely.

Furniture in a bright bathroom with wooden accents

If you decide on a wooden floor in your bathroom, the furniture should not be in the colour of natural wood. The reason is simple: the wood on the floor will change its shade over time, more so than cabinets or shelves. Over time, the difference in colour will be very visible. Instead, choose off-white shabby chic cabinets, neutral, functional lacquered board cabinets or even delicate bent-bar cabinets.
Wood looks best with noble raw materials. Plastic, eye-catching details will look artificial. Choose stone or stone imitation bathroom accessories, a simple mirror frame or a mirror without a frame. In our guide on how to arrange an attic bathroom, we wrote that in a bright bathroom with wood, e.g. in the form of exposed ceiling joists, bricks will also play a great role.

Bright bathroom with wooden accents: different types of finishes

When we think of a light-coloured bathroom with wood, we most often see white walls and a pine wood floor with an intense golden yellow colour. A very fashionable combination is also off-white and grey. Walls in a very light, powdery pink colour, grey painted wooden floor and furniture in the same colour is another good direction. The Sanswiss shower enclosure from the BLACK LINE collection will be a strong counterpoint here - it will give the whole room definition and offset its pastel sweetness.
